WHO CARES
A solo performance by Evie Demetriou in collaboration with dramaturg Guy Cools.
“Evie Demetriou’s ‘WHO CARES’ explores the complexities of care within our commodified society, reflecting the systemic inequalities that shape our interpersonal relationships.”
WHO CARES is an evocative solo performance that playfully explores the nature of care—who we care for, how we care, and who cares for us. Drawing from her Cypriot roots, Evie Demetriou utilizes the sea as a metaphor for identity, relationships, and the intricate web of societal expectations.
This performance examines the tension between personal desires and the pressures of social norms, questioning how these forces shape our perceptions and actions. Through blending strong physicality, with intimacy, humor and autobiographical stories, WHO CARES blurs the boundaries of dance and performance art, inviting the audience to a thought provoking journey
