NEVER JUST I is a new performance work by Evie Demetriou. In this deeply personal and evocative piece, Evie explores the multifaceted roles of women and her own experiences as a mother and daughter. The performance invites the audience into a world of vulnerability, empathy, and humor. For Evie, mothering extends beyond biological function—it is a profound social practice. Inspired by the groundbreaking book Revolutionary Mothering: Love on the Front Lines, she envisions new pathways toward a future where identity and possibilities are not confined by gender or race. NEVER JUST I is more than a performance—it is a poetic manifesto. Evie invites us to imagine a world where the collective “we” triumphs over the solitary “I,” and where dreaming becomes a transformative act for change.
