Evie’s performances often serve as catalysts for dialogue, compelling audiences to reflect on societal norms and injustices.
Her work navigates the multifaceted themes of identity and societal expectations. While her portfolio includes a robust exploration of female identity, her choreographies extend to broader discussions on personal and collective identity. Her acclaimed solo performance “Who Cares” intricately examines how personal identity interacts with social norms, fusing humor and powerful physicality to provoke thought. Similarly, “Fountains of Mojitos” brings together four women to share their intimate experiences of sexuality and motherhood, challenging stereotypes and fostering authentic connections. Her recent work, “Say Yes! Again and Again,” invites performers to reflect on memory and identity, illuminating how personal narratives shape our understanding of self. Through her thought-provoking choreography, Evie engages audiences in meaningful conversations about identity, empowerment, and the transformative potential of dance as an art form.
With over 17 countries in her touring history, Evie’s choreographic works have graced a diverse array of festivals, from intimate avant-garde venues to prestigious international platforms. Her performances resonate with audiences in Europe, Asia, and Africa, inviting them to engage deeply with narratives that challenge conventional perspectives on identity and social justice.
